State Police Offer Safety Reminders for Parents Bringing Children to Sail Boston

The Massachusetts State Police would like to remind parents taking their children to Sail Boston or any large public event of some basic safety recommendations.

Missing Children
It is very easy to become separated in large crowds.  Please take a moment to discuss the possibility and develop an age appropriate plan with your children.  A few tips to consider:

Take a picture of your children when you arrive so you have digital image of what they are wearing.
Identify public safety officials and encourage children to go to them if they get separated.
Stay put.  Children are usually close to where they were last seen.  Tell them to stay put.
Write your information on a piece of paper, the inside of their shirt, or anyplace responders will find it.
Call 911.  The sooner the better.

See Something, Say something
As always, if you see something that makes you uneasy or unsure, please notify police.

  • Call 911
  • Text “SailBoston” and your tip or concern to 67283
