UPDATED Massachusetts State Police Media Release—11152014—State Police Respond to Fatal Crash on the Enneking Parkway in Hyde Park.
This morning, at approximately 2:30 a.m., State Police from the Milton Barracks responded to a single motor vehicle rollover on the Enneking Parkway in Hyde Park resulting in a fatality.
Preliminary investigation by Trooper Matthew Morrissey indicates that the vehicle, a 2003 Honda Accord, being operated by JEFFREY MASON, 42 of Walpole was traveling on the Enneking Parkway , and for reasons still under investigation lost control, causing the vehicle to rollover near the intersection of the Turtle Pond Parkway. The female passenger, LILLIAN GROVER, 41 of Roslindale, was pronounced dead at the scene. Excessive speed is being investigated as a potential cause of the crash. The Office of Media Relations will update as to the arraignment status of MASON on Monday morning if possible.
The Enneking Parkway was closed until approximately 5:00 a.m. for crash reconstruction and cleanup.
JEFFREY MASON was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
OUI Liquor 4th Offense
Motor Vehicle Homicide, OUI Liquor & Reckless
Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Leaving the Scene of Personal Injury
MASON was transported to Brigham and Womens Hospital for injuries he sustained in the crash and is being monitored by troopers pending his transport to the Milton Barracks. MASON will be arraigned Monday morning.
The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) and Crime Scene Services Section assisted with the investigation. State Police were also assisted on scene by Boston Fire and EMS.
