Troopers assigned to the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Cheshire concluded a lengthy copper theft investigation, resulting in the arrest of six individuals. The wire stolen from the Florida Mountain Windmill Farm Project in Florida, MA, described as being one inch in diameter with a 100 watt capacity specifically designed for a wind turbine has an estimated value of $38,000. 

Tpr Ryan Mauer’sinvestigationrevealed the subjects dug a tunnel under a security fence surrounding the windmill and cut sectionsoff two large spools of wire.  The subjects then tried to sell the cooper wire to local scrap metal yards.  Through the coordinated efforts of the State Police and thePittsfield Police Department all subjects were successfully detained for questioning. Further investigation and a subsequent search of a hotel roomyielded evidence of the theft; including the stripped wire outer cover, tools used to cut the wire, and narcotics paraphernalia.

As a result, the arrested parties and charges are as follows:

 

Eli Waters, 33, of Pittsfield

1. Receive Stolen Property Over $250 – 7 counts

2. Malicious Destruction of Property – 3 counts

3. Knowingly Being Present Where Heroin is kept

4. Trespass

Gina Arnold, 32, of Pittsfield,

1. Receive Stolen Property Over $250 -2 counts

2. Malicious Destruction of Property- 3 counts

3. Knowingly Being Present Where Heroin is kept

4. Trespass

Dylan Greiter, 24, of Northampton

1. Receive Stolen Property Over $250 -2 counts

2. Malicious Destruction of Property – 3counts

3. Trespass

4. Knowingly Being Present Where Heroin is kept

 

 

 

Jamene Hinckley-Morrison, 32, of Pittsfield

1. Receive Stolen Property Over $250 – 3 counts

2. Malicious Destruction of Property – 3 counts

3. Trespass

4. Knowingly Being Present Where Heroin is kept

 

Marc Bednarz, 46, of Adams

1. Receiving Stolen Property Over $250 (4 counts)

 

Brian McAdoo, 35, of Adams.

1. Receiving Stolen Property Over $250 (3 counts)

2. Operating Under the Influence

3. Revoked Registration/Uninsured Motor Vehicle

 

All six subjects were booked at the State Police Barracks in Cheshire and released to arraignment in North Adams and Pittsfield District Courts.
