Massachusetts State Police Release – 11192013 — State Police Arrest Three More Most Wanted Sex Offenders
The Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS) has arrested three more of its Most Wanted High Risk Level 3 Sex Offenders. Today’s three arrests bring to five the number of Most Wanted Sex Offenders captured after the unit’s new list was to the media and posted on MSP’s social media sites. The first two were arrested Monday.
VFAS arrested the third of the top ten most wanted this morning in Fitchburg. LENNELL YORK, 42, was captured after a tip was received that he may be at a residence in Fitchburg. With the assistance of Fitchburg Police Detectives, VFAS Troopers took LENNELL YORK into custody after finding him hiding in a basement.
YORK was wanted in Fitchburg District Court for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. YORK was required by law to register because of past convictions, including a 1999 conviction for Indecent Assault and Battery on a Child Under 14 in Fitchburg. In 1993, YORK was also convicted Indecent Assault & Battery on a Person Over 14 and Procuring Alcohol for a Minor in Templeton.
Today’s second arrest was made by the VFAS West Team, along with the assistance of the Holyoke Police Department. VFAS received information that ROBERTO JIMENEZ was at a residence in the city of Holyoke. JIMENEZ was located and placed in custody after attempting to hide in a closet. JIMENEZ had two outstanding warrants: One out of Hampden Superior Court for Indecent Assault & Battery on a Child Under 14 and a warrant out of Holyoke District Court for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
In 2006, JIMENEZ was convicted of 2 counts of Rape of a Child Under 16 years of age and 1 count of Indecent A&B on a Child Under 14 years of age for a Springfield sexual assault. The victim in this case was a 12-year-old boy who met JIMENEZ via an on-line chat room. JIMENEZ convinced the boy to meet him under the guise of playing video games and then sexually assaulted him.
The third arrest today, was made by the VFAS North Team. VFAS received information that led them to East Boston. Information was received that ALAN J. HOWARD, 41, could be located in a specific neighborhood. The investigation lead the troopers to find HOWARD walking on the street. After a brief foot pursuit, HOWARD was taken into custody.
HOWARD had two outstanding warrants from East Boston District Court for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and a additional charge of Threatening to Commit a Crime. In 1995, HOWARD was convicted in Charlestown District Court for Indecent Assault and Battery on a Child who was 4 years old at the time.
