Massachusetts State Police Release–08-17-2013–State Police Arrest Man After Assault At Revere Beach Bathhouse  

Today at 5:40 P.M. Troopers from the State Police barracks in Revere responded to a report of an assault at the Shirley Ave Bathhouse on Revere Beach Boulevard in Revere.

Troopers learned that a male suspect had accosted a father and his 5 year old son in the restroom of the Bathhouse.

During the assault, the suspect allegedly exposed himself to the father and the young boy.

The suspect fled from the scene on foot and was captured by troopers after a foot pursuit along the MBTA Blue Line tracks. Train service was interrupted for a period of time during the pursuit and eventual arrest.

The suspect was transported back to the State Police barracks in Revere where he was booked and will be held pending his appearance in Chelsea  District Court.

The father and his 5 year old son did not sustain any physical injuries during this incident.

The suspect is identified as CLIFFORD AVERY, 44 of Winthrop, Mass.

AVERY has been charged with:

1. Lewd and Lascivious Act

2. Indecent Exposure

3. Assault and Battery

4. Disorderly Conduct

5. Resisting Arrest.

We will not be identifying the victims in this case.
