Massachusetts State Police Release–07082012–State Police Respond to Multiple Vehicle Crash in Brockton

On Sunday July 8, 2012 at 2 a.m. several motor vehicles were involved in a crash on Route 24 northbound in Brockton. Troopers from the State Police barracks in Middleborough responded to the scene.  The first responding troopers located three persons injured, lying in the roadway. It is unclear how the injured persons ended up out of their respective vehicles.

As a result of the crash four people were transported from the scene to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. The injured persons  have been identified as:

Lauren Machado, 28, of Canton.  Ms. Machado was operating a 2002 Honda Civic.  Ms. Machado was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Kaitlyn A. Conner, 23, of Cheshire.  Ms. Conner was a passenger in the 2002 Honda Civic. She was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Michael H. Tenney, 29, of Canton, MA. Mr. Tenney was a passenger in the 2002 Honda Civic, and was taken by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Lisa  Brasil, 33, of Taunton. Ms Brasil was operating a 2000 Acura sedan.  She was taken by ambulance to Brockton City Hospital.

A third vehicle identified as a 2005 Toyota RAV 4 was identified as being a part of this crash and was towed by the police as part of the investigation.

Several lanes of Route 24 northbound were closed for approximately two and a half hours during this investigation.

This investigation is being conducted by Trooper Walter Beard from the State Police Barracks in Middleborough. Emergency Service assets from the Brockton Fire Department responded to the scene to care for the victims. Members of the MSP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the MSP Crime Scene Service Section also responded to assist in this investigation.
