Massachusetts State Police Release–02062012–State Police Investigating Injury to Woman on Route 93 in Wilmington

Today at 03:50 a.m., troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Andover responded to an incident on Route 93 southbound and Route 62 in Wilmington. The incident resulted in serious injuries to a pedestrian.

Reports indicate a 32 year old woman had fallen from the overpass of Route 62, into the left travel lane, sustaining serious injuries. The victim was pulled out of the roadway by unidentified good Samaritans and called 911.

The Wilmington Fire Department/ EMS were able to stabilize the victim until Life Flight could transport her to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Troopers are looking into the possibility that the victim could have jumped from the overpass. We will not be releasing any more information on the victim.
